Assistant Headteacher

We are seeking to appoint a new Assistant Headteacher to join the Senior Leadership Team at Menston Primary School
Salary L2 – L6, Full time, permanent
Start date 16 April 2018

The role will include:

  • a 0.8 class teacher responsibility, initially in Year 4
  • leading aspects of learning in KS2
  • being a key member of the Senior Leadership Team

We are looking for a leader who:

  • can take the lead in developing the teaching of writing across the school
  • is dedicated to raising standards and is able to demonstrate highly effective teaching and learning skills and a genuine flair for innovative approaches for teaching and learning
  • is an excellent practitioner with high standards and expectations in all aspects of school life
  • can demonstrate the ability to plan an exciting curriculum to inspire a love of learning across the key stage
  • can support and mentor colleagues to develop teaching and learning
  • can observe colleagues and feedback with accuracy in a supportive and positive way
  • is keen to develop and share their own knowledge and expertise and become involved in every aspect of school life

Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 2 in the first instance

27.5 – 32.5 hours per week, negotiable for the right candidate
Term Time Only + 1 week
Band 8 SCP 25-28

  • Delivering some whole class provision as part of our CPD programme, under the direction of teachers
  • Working 1:1 and with small groups on catch-up and booster programmes
  • Working independently and with class teachers to facilitate pupil attainment and progress
  • Contribute towards pupil attainment tracking and reporting

Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1 in the first instance

30 hours per week, Term Time Only, Permanent
Band 5 SCP 13 – 17

The Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic, caring Teaching Assistant to join the strong staff team working in Key Stage 1 in the first instance in this high performing, popular and friendly school. You will need to be committed to developing inclusion, have experience of working with young children and have a calm, positive and confident manner.  The post includes an element of lunchtime supervision.

You will need to:

  • Be enthusiastic, well-motivated and committed to raising standards
  • Be a well organised, friendly, and flexible team player, with good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working with ICT/new technologies
  • Demonstrate recent experience of either working or volunteering in primary schools
