Teaching Assistant/Lunchtime Craft Leader
14 hours per week Term Time only
1 Year fixed term contract
Band 5 SCP 13 – 17

There is an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant/Lunchtime Craft Leader at Menston Primary School from September 2018.

Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable and we are particularly interested in candidates with experience of working in a primary school/early years setting with children in EYFS/Key Stage 1.  The successful candidate will be required to work as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS/Key Stage 1 in the first instance, however the location and actual working pattern may change according to the business needs of the school.

This post incorporates an element of lunchtime play work to work with alongside our Lunchtime Playleader and team of lunchtime staff.   We are seeking to recruit someone with a genuine interest in and commitment to planning, preparing and facilitating craft activities for children in Key Stage 2 as part of our safe and engaging playtime provision.

You will need to:

  • Be enthusiastic, well-motivated and committed to raising standards
  • Be a well organised, friendly, and flexible team player, with good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for working with craft activities with children

In the first instance the working pattern will be:

Teaching Assistant (7 hours 15 minutes):

Monday 12.50 pm to 3.15 pm
Wednesday 12.50 pm to 3.15 pm
Thursday 9.25 am to 11.50 am

Lunchtime Craft Leader (6 hours 45 minutes):

Monday to Friday 11.50 am to 12.50 pm
plus 1 hour 45 mins per week planning/preparation to be agreed

Care Club Playworker
Band 3 (£7.90 to £7.97 per hour) or Band 4 (£8.09 to £8.36 per hour) according to qualifications and experience

There are exciting opportunities to become a Playworker at our very popular before and after school Care Club based in Menston Primary School to start as soon as possible

A variety of term time only, part time, fixed term and permanent positions are available across morning and afternoon sessions.  We are happy to discuss working patterns with candidates at interview.

AM sessions are 7.45 am to 9.00 am
PM sessions are 3.00 pm to 5.30pm or 6.15 pm
Our Care Club is a well-established, friendly and caring 60-75 place, play based before and after school care facility for Menston Primary School children, with tremendous indoor and outdoor facilities. We have our own dedicated Care Club playrooms and a wide variety of appealing outdoor play spaces.
