Teaching Assistant in Foundation Key Stage, in the first instance

32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only

Band 5, SCP 4 – 6

Required from Monday 1 November 2021

There is an opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant at Menston Primary School. Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant is desirable and we are particularly interested in candidates with experience of working in a primary school/early years setting with children in EYFS.  The successful candidate will be required to work as a Teaching Assistant in EYFS in the first instance, but may be required to work across the whole school. The working hours for this post are 8:15am – 3:15pm Monday to Friday, in the first instance. However, the year group and actual working pattern may change due to business needs. You will need to be committed to developing inclusion, have experience of working with young children and have a calm, positive and confident manner. This post includes an element of lunchtime supervision.

Outdoor Learning and Resource Technician

10 hours per week in the first instance, Term Time Only

There is an exciting opportunity to become an Outdoor Learning and Resource Technician at Menston Primary School to start in the autumn term 2021.

Menston Primary School is in a beautiful semi-rural setting and has a happy and caring environment. The successful candidate will work as part of our welcoming and friendly team to provide high quality support in all areas of outdoor learning. Our large grounds require specific maintenance duties in order that children can access the highest quality outdoor learning experiences.

Apprentice Early Years Practitioner (General Classroom Assistant)

32.5 hours per week including 1 day per week offsite training at Shipley College

Term Time Only for up to 18 months

£4.30 per hour

The Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Apprentice Early Years Practitioner (General Classroom Assistant) to undertake an Apprenticeship Scheme for up to 18 months to start in September 2021.  We are looking for an individual who is committed to undertaking a Level 2 Apprenticeship Early Years Practitioner qualification through Shipley College.

The successful candidate will join the strong staff team working in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in this high performing, popular and friendly school. This will be to support children in provision both indoors and outdoors as well as delivering 1:1 and small group interventions and catch up programmes.  This apprenticeship will prepare the successful candidate to work in any primary school, nursery or preschool Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision, supporting children with a broad range of starting points including those with cognition and learning needs and speech, language and communication needs.  You will need to be committed to developing inclusion, demonstrate your aspiration for a career working with children and have a calm, positive and confident manner.  This apprenticeship post will lead to a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification.

There are exciting opportunities to become a Playworker at our very popular before and after school Care Club based in Menston Primary School

Band 3 (£9.43 per hour) or Band 4 (£9.62 to £9.81 per hour) according to qualifications and experience.

Part time positions are available, and candidates should be willing to work 2 or more sessions per week. Morning sessions are 7.45 am to 9.00 am and pm sessions are 3.00 pm to 5.30/6.15 pm.  Posts are offered on a term time only basis. We have availability for permanent, fixed term and casual workers.  We are happy to discuss working patterns with candidates at interview.

Our Care Club is a well-established, friendly and caring 75 place, play based before and after school care facility for Menston Primary School children, with tremendous indoor and outdoor facilities. We have our own dedicated Care Club playrooms and a wide variety of appealing outdoor play spaces.

Please report all absences to the school office before 8:30 am. We have a 24 hour absence line 01943 873180 where you can leave a message to let us know what the reason for absence is. You must not send any child in to school if anyone in the household is displaying the symptoms of Covid-19. If your child has sickness or diarrhoea they must be kept off school for 48 hours after the last bout of illness.
